Overview

Prime Steakhouse, tucked away at 3874 W River Dr NE Suite B in Comstock Park, Michigan, is a refined yet inviting destination for steak lovers and those seeking an elegant dining experience. This steakhouse strikes a balance between tradition and a modern touch, crafting a space that feels both polished and comfortably welcoming.

The heart of the menu lies in their expertly prepared steaks. From the tender Flat Iron Wagyu to the generous 20oz Delmonico Ribeye and the impressive Tomahawk presentation, each cut demonstrates a mastery of flavor and texture. The steaks arrive with thoughtfully curated sides—Brussels sprouts that have garnered rave reviews for their seasoning, creamy mashed potatoes, and perfectly grilled asparagus topped with delicate Parmesan shavings. Complimenting these dishes are appetizers like a memorable shrimp cocktail and bruschetta that avoid the typical pitfalls of toughness or blandness.

The atmosphere here is warm with an “old-fashioned” charm, enhanced by attentive staff who create a feeling of genuine hospitality. Hostess Kristine and owner-chef Scott Ingersoll engage personally, elevating the evening into a memorable occasion. This level of care shows in small but meaningful touches such as re-plating a dish that gets jostled and sending guests off with chocolates, underscoring the focus on quality experience over rushed service.

Whether it’s a casual date night, a significant celebration, or an anniversary dinner, Prime Steakhouse caters to guests who appreciate fine steaks presented with skill in a relaxed yet sophisticated environment. The combination of flavorful food, thoughtful service, and comfortable setting makes it a stellar choice for anyone looking to enjoy authentic steakhouse fare without the pretense.

Overall, Prime Steakhouse is more than just a place to eat—it’s a place to savor, connect, and celebrate the rich flavors and rituals of a classic steakhouse meal in the heart of Comstock Park.

Thank you to Kristine, the hostess with the mostess, who waited on Thomas and I for dinner tonight. We didn’t have reservations, but we needed a date night and I’d seen an article about this fabulous place around the corner from our house. And the food is amazing. And now I’m bonding with Kristine over mutual friends. She has excellent taste in cocktails. Try the cucumber mule. Also, for the record, the shrimp cocktail is actually amazing and not just a basic appetizer. The bruschetta was delicious, not too tough or too chewy. Tom had the 20oz Delmonico Ribeye and was licking his fingers. I tasted his Brussels sprouts and they were fabulous. He cleaned the bowl from his potatoes before I could ask. I had the Flat Iron Wagyu and it was crispy on the outside and melting on the inside. The grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes were perfect. And my plate got jostled on the way to the table, so the chef* took it back to be re-plated so it would be perfect. Finally, we had tiramisu for dessert and it was wonderful. This is worth changing my flight and coming back early so I can celebrate my birthday here. And I like to sleep. Special thanks to John (who stopped by often) and to Scott Ingersoll (owner and aforementioned chef, which I didn’t realize until I asked for his name) who was cooking and serving personally. We will definitely be back.

Tried this quaint little gem for dinner, it is very unique, nicely decorated, classy, and elegant enough for any occasion. The food was delicious, and service was great! My husband and I both had the filet, with mashed potatoes and asparagus, with a side house salad. Will definitely go back!

Amazing staff. Super inviting and welcoming. Felt at home with an amazing atmosphere and ambiance. Tomahawk comes out with a presentation of the chef slicing it for you. DelMonico was so tasty.... with the fat having one of the best ever. Asparagus was beautifully seasoned with finely sliced parmesian cheese. Just felt so welcomed and at ease in the "old fashioned" vibe. Quality! Amazing staff.

Me and my girlfriend came here for her 21st birthday and had an amazing time. I forget the servers name unfortunately, but she was extremely nice and helpful, all of the staff was. We split the tomahawk steak which was very reasonably priced, and it was SOOOO good, I would have felt like I got my moneys worth if it was double the price. Amazing staff, great food, and really good prices. I will be back.

Small, quaint restaurant! Our service, drinks and food were all amazing. We started with the deep fried fungi and they were huge! So good! Our table had the barrel cut filet and the 6 oz petite filet and both were cooked exactly like we asked. I don’t love asparagus so I got the brussel sprouts and they were really good. Our only complaint was our food wasn’t particularly hot. We didn’t send it back because it looked so good and we just wanted to eat! Will definitely be back!
